Despite plans to add a few more seats, the Thousand Oaks Auto Mall is playing a tricky game of musical chairs.

While city officials and auto mall tenants prepare to add parking and storage to the crowded Conejo Valley auto mall, major operators such as Rusnak Auto Group and Silver Star Automotive Group are busy adding, remodeling and trading out dealerships within it.

Rusnak is not only in the midst of a $35 million construction project for a new BMW showroom and service facility on Thousand Oak’s Auto Mall Drive, but it recently closed escrow on a prime lot at the auto mall that may soon show Smart cars.
