In the lead category, put down Community Memorial Hospital, or CMH, in Ventura. This month, the venerable private-nonprofit institution is taking the wraps off a major revamp that will create the way for a 21st century facility at its mid-town campus.
CMH is not the first hospital to unveil a big makeover. Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, Marian Medical Center in Santa Maria and others all have raised hundreds of millions of dollars to meet California’s tough new seismic standards.
