SkyWest Airlines said it will quit providing skycap services, which include curbside baggage checking and wheelchair service, at the Santa Barbara Airport on Aug. 31.
SkyWest, which operates the United Express and Delta Connection flights at Santa Barbara, said it would cut skycap services at 64 other airports. SkyWest flights make up about half of the daily departures from Santa Barbara.
SkyWest said the cuts are because of financial strain. American Eagle, another airline at Santa Barbara, stopped providing skycap services about two years ago, airport officials said.
