California State University, Channel Islands, was recently awarded a $1.7 million grant for stem cell research, the university announced.
Ching-Hua Wang, chair of biology, geology and nursing and director of the master’s in biotechnology and bioinformatics program, secured the funds from the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine as a part of its Bridges to Stem Cell Research program. CSUCI was one of 11 universities statewide to receive funding from the program.
The grant will fund both comprehensive lecture and laboratory courses.
