California State University, Channel Islands, was recently awarded a $1.7 million grant for stem cell research, the university announced.

Ching-Hua Wang, chair of biology, geology and nursing and director of the master’s in biotechnology and bioinformatics program, secured the funds from the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine as a part of its Bridges to Stem Cell Research program. CSUCI was one of 11 universities statewide to receive funding from the program.
