The Westlake Village branch of engineering, architecture and construction management company Huitt-Zollars landed a $23 million contract as the prime consultant for the Calabasas freeway bridge widening and interchange project at Lost Hills Road and Highway 101.

Under the terms of the contract Huitt-Zollars will create the Planning Approval/Environmental Documentation, as well as prepare the plans, specifications and estimates for the widening of the two-lane bridge to five lanes with a partial cloverleaf interchange, according to Huitt-Zollars Vice President Jim Faul.

Huitt-Zollars also will provide and manage quality control, engineering design and state mandated environmental studies such as visual impact analysis, noise impacts and water quality studies.

Additionally, Huitt-Zollars will be responsible for landscape design services within the footprint and right-of-way of the interchange.
