As retail sales fell another 1.1 percent in March — even though economists had expected a modest increase — tri-county businesses continue to shift their sales tactics to pull enough customers through their doors to stay afloat.
Compared with the same month in 2008, March’s retail sales were off by 9.4 percent, according to the U.S. Commerce Department. Several specialty stores said they are sticking to the simple business plans that have carried them through. But will it be enough?
