Everything is withering in this economy. Even fake flowers.

Aldik Artificial Flower Co., based in Moorpark, has been the country’s leading wholesaler of artificial blossoms for more than half a century. But after seeing steady growth over the past few decades, the company was forced to dissolve in February after a massive decline in sales and is still liquidating its inventory.

“The economy is just not doing well enough. Aldik was unable to reduce its fixed cost and adjust its manpower cost quickly enough to offset this large drop in sales and was unable to find any outside financing,” said Aldik Manager Zury Segal.
