Operators at the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant in San Luis Obispo County shut down one of the plant’s two reactors June 30 because of a blown fuse, the Associated Press reported.
The fuse caused a loss of power but didn’t pose any safety threat, said officials at Pacific Gas & Electric, the owner of the plant. The other reactor continued at full power, but at press time there was no indication when the shuttered reactor would come back online.
