Tuttini’s Café and Bakery, formerly located next to the Business Times at 10 E. Carrillo St. in Santa Barbara, closed its doors on Feb. 21 after six years in business.

In a sign posted in its window, the popular downtown bakery said that it was closing due to “circumstances beyond our control.” The landlord reportedly evicted the business to open his own restaurant in the spot.

But owner Susan Sullivan reportedly told Santa Barbara restaurant blogger John Dickinson that she was shuttering her doors due to declining sales during the last two years and a difficult rent structure and that she is looking for a new location to reopen in Santa Barbara.

By the morning of Feb. 22, Tuttini’s name sign was being taken down from the Carrillo Street location. The bakery’s Web site was also down.

Susan and Winston Sullivan also started Tutti’s restaurant in Montecito.
