With California headed into the dog days of August with no budget deal in sight, I’d like to offer my own idea for ending the summer gridlock: the 75-25 solution.
I offer this solution for one reason and one reason only. With very few exceptions, the folks in Sacramento have absolutely no idea how much opportunity cost is tied up in the budget gridlock that’s become ingrained in the state’s political culture.
In a battle over $20 billion in cost savings, they’re jeopardizing tens of billions a day in lost sales and lost deals while companies from around the world hold off on deals in the Golden State.
