As one of the only ground-up buildings to be constructed in Santa Barbara’s downtown core in years, the new law office complex at 1100 Santa Barbara St. is something of an anomaly.
Also rare is the $1.3 million price tag and eight-month construction time line — the 6,000-square-foot project was under budget and ahead of schedule, said Kip Bradley, a partner at Santa Barbara-based Daketta Pacific, which developed the property.
“We designed the building to meet a specific need in the downtown office market that we thought was very underserved, that being the small, executive suite that offered location, parking, amenities and lots of class,” Bradley told the Business Times. “If you are a single office business person or lawyer, the stuff that is out there is very small, not in good condition and doesn’t have parking.”
