Paso Robles is on a roll.

Its wines are winning the raves of the world’s top critics, giving its tourism industry something to crow about and providing a brand poised for rapid expansion.

North San Luis Obispo County’s small base of technology companies is producing a number of fast-growth, specialized firms that are coming to dominate their markets.

Now comes news that Justin Vineyards & Winery, one of the largest players in San Luis Obispo County viticulture, is being acquired by the owners of Fiji Water. Awards are one thing but deals are something else entirely.

The sale of Justin has just validated the market for SLO County wine-making enterprises. Corks should be popping up and down the Central Coast.
