Dear Editor:

The article headlined “Ex VC sheriff sues for supplemental pension”  in your Oct. 18 issue got my blood boiling, as I am sure it did with many of your readers.

As one of the highest-paid retires in California, former Ventura County Sheriff Bob Brook’s decision to sue for even more money reflects bad judgment on his part, especially from someone who’s career should be to serve and protect, not enrich himself off the state. It reminded me of a line from the movie, “Fast and Furious”: “You know the difference between a cop and a criminal? One bad judgment call.”

Please keep me and your other readers updated on this disturbingly selfish story.
