Santa Barbara-based wireless speaker maker Sonos has recruited the head of Microsoft’s Xbox product team to become its new chief product officer.
Microsoft said in a news release that Marc Whitten, chief product officer of Xbox, will be leaving the team to become chief product officer of Sonos. Xbox has been one of the Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft’s top performing segments in the past decade.
It has been a high-profile year for Sonos. The company ran an ad during Super Bowl XLVIII and recently announced that its revenue nearly doubled to $535 million in 2013.
