The Oxnard City Council is expected to approve a contract with the Los Angeles Rams at a meeting Feb. 23.
The Rams would hold spring practices at the River Ridge Fields, near River Ridge Golf Course, from April 18 through June 17. The city expects to net about $75,000.
According to the contract between the city and the team, the Rams will pay $31,110 to rent the fields or $510 per day. The Rams will also lease locker rooms at the site for $680 per day from March 28 through June 24, for $59,840.
The Rams will pay for field maintenance, but the city of Oxnard will pay up to $1,500 per month for utility costs. The city expects revenues from the contract of about $91,000 and expenses of about $15,000 during the summer.
The fields are also where the Dallas Cowboys hold training camp in August, so the Rams will need to find a different place to hold fall practices starting late July.
The city will keep parking revenues from the camp. During Cowboys training camp last year, the city charged $20 on weekends and $10 on weekdays. The agreement calls for the Rams to set up bleachers and provide security.
