Interlink Electronics reported a sharp increase in revenues and profits for the first quarter on May 16.
Westlake Village-based Interlink Electronics focuses on manufacturing sensors that are used in portable electronic devices. The company said revenues increased 24 percent during the quarter to $2.8 million; up from $2.3 million during the first quarter of 2016. Net income also rose from $274,000 last year to $606,000 this year.
Earnings per share doubled from 4 cents per share in 2015 to 8 cents per share in 2016. According to S&P Capital IQ, the company has a healthy profit margin of about 16.5 percent.
The company said during the quarter it began building a research and development office in Singapore and the company expects to move into the office sometime in July.
