More than 2,500 people from Ventura County attended the Latino Business Expo on Oct. 27 at the Ventura County Fairgrounds.

The twice-a-year event featured exhibits from 122 businesses and nonprofits. Among the more popular displays were those for Tequila Alquimia and rival spirits maker Sin Rival — both were handing out free samples.

Businesses in attendance included area banks, credit unions, restaurants, car dealers, retailers and display firms. Politicians in attendance included Third District Supervisor candidate Kelly Long.

Organizer Adam Casillas estimated total attendance at around 2,800 — an impressive turnout despite threats of rain.
