Teledyne Instruments, an arm of Thousand Oaks-based aerospace and defense company Teledyne Technologies, announced that it would acquire Pennsylvania piston pump maker Scientific Systems, Inc.
Teledyne is one of SSI’s larger customers, Teledyne President and CEO Robert Mehrabian said in a news release.
“SSI will provide Teledyne greater access to life sciences customers and markets, while Teledyne offers SSI additional technologies and new opportunities in the industrial space,” he said. “We are proud to continue SSI’s 50-year legacy of innovative, highly-engineered products and outstanding customer service.”
The Pennsylvania company manufactures components used for analytical and diagnostic tools and medical devices, particularly those using precise fluid flow at high pressures.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
