Santa Paula-based lemon grower and distributor Limoneira announced new market strategies in partnership with Northern California citrus packing company Suntreat.

Suntreat said it was in “high growth mode,” after increasing its lemon, orange and specialty citrus acreage.

“Our companies have complementary strengths and this alliance enables us to continue to be the preferred partner for our customers with citrus. Just as important, it will enable both entities to realize strategic goals even more quickly,” Suntreat President Darren Filkins said in a news release.

The partnership is also part of Limoneira’s One World of Citrus global supply strategy, increasing its supply in North America and other markets, but the company did not disclose financial terms of the deal.

“Our goal is to be everything citrus to our global customer base and provide best-in-class quality and consistency,” said John Carter, Limoneira’s director of global sales. “We’ll get them the varieties they want whenever and wherever they want them.”
