COAST Big Sur gallery has reopened to the public with a a new gourmet café and a menu by renowned San Francisco chef Nick Balla.

Since opening as Coast Gallery in 1958, COAST Big Sur has been a fixture on California’s Central Coast and a destination for tourists and artists looking to experience Big Sur’s stunning landscapes and coastline in a unique setting.

While the iconic exterior design featuring three enormous water tanks fashioned with 2,000-year-old redwood slabs remains, the interior space is now home to a boutique with a unique selection of tabletop gifts and artisanal crafts along with a world-class gallery space for a variety of artists including award-winning Dutch sculptor Loet Vanderveen.

“I have always admired the serenity and history of Big Sur,” said Peter Mullin, owner of COAST Big Sur. “COAST is such an important part of Big Sur’s history, and it was of utmost importance to us to preserve that history, while giving the space a fresh new look.”

In addition to fine art and gifts, COAST now features an elevated casual café with a stunning view of the California coastline from an expansive rooftop terrace.
