Santa Barbara film festival to honor Martin Scorsese

The 35th Santa Barbara International Film Festival will honor Martin Scorsese with the 14th annual Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film on Nov. 14.

Past honorees include Hugh Jackman, Judi Dench, Warren Beatty, Jane Fonda, Jessica Lange, Forest Whitaker, Robert DeNiro, Michael Douglas, Harrison Ford, Quentin Tarantino, Ed Harris and John Travolta.

The red carpet event begins at 6:15 p.m. at the Ritz Carlton Bacara Santa Barbara in Goleta.
