Camarillo bioreactor maker PBS Biotech secured a long-term lease for 63,789 square feet of freestanding industrial space at 4721 Calle Carga.

New York real estate advisory firm Newmark Knight Frank oversaw that transaction, which was valued at more than $2 million dollars, but the length of the lease was not announced.

NKF Executive Managing Director John DeGrinis and Senior Managing Directors Patrick DuRoss, Jeff Abraham and Greg Tippin represented both Microsemi Communications, the sublessor, and PBS Biotech.

This is the fifth transaction DeGrinis and his team have finished with a biotech company in the past year.

“This sublease is yet another indicator of the rising trend of biotech expansions throughout the Southern California market, particularly along the 101 corridor in North Los Angeles, in recent years,” DuRoss said in a press release March 2.

The space allows PBS to grow significantly, Newmark said, as it’s four times the size of its previous location. Of the 63,789 square feet of space, 49,358 square feet is office space. The property was recently renovated, and includes features like four ground-level loading doors, open bullpen areas and multiple labs.
