Cottage Health opened a new Cottage Urgent Care Center in San Luis Obispo on March 23, its ninth such clinic in a network that stretches from Camarillo to San Luis Obispo.

Cottage Health, a nonprofit network of hospitals in Santa Barbara County and clinics throughout the tri-county region, has also recently promoted two people to new executive leadership roles.

Lisa Moore was promoted March 16 to the position of executive vice president and chief operating officer. In her new role, she leads the operations of Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, including Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital and Cottage Children’s Medical Center; Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital, Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital; and Pacific Diagnostic Laboratories. Until her promotion, Moore was Cottage’s vice president for clinical services, a post she had held since 2000, and she has been with the company since 1991.

On March 22, Cottage promoted Laura Canfield from administrative director of Acute Care Services to vice president of Patient Care Services and chief nursing officer. Canfield started at Cottage Health in 2011 as a clinical nurse specialist in neuroscience and helped the Santa Barbara hospital achieve its Comprehensive Stroke Certification.

The new urgent care clinic, at 777 Foothill Road in San Luis Obispo, is Cottage’s second in the city. It also has four urgent care clinics in Santa Barbara County and three in Ventura County, and has announced plans for additional locations in Santa Maria and Ventura.
