Thousand Oaks-based firm VSolvit has won a $53.1 million contract to provide support services to the U.S. Navy’s IT center at Naval Base Ventura County.

Founded in 2006 by Payal Kamdar, VSolvit, pronounced “we solve it,” has in the past produced mapping systems for the USDA and the White House, for which it produced maps to connect people with local farmers.

In the new Navy contract, the scope of work includes deploying and supporting business-class software used throughout the Navy’s global organization. The VSolvit team for the contract includes Ventura-based Rentfrow and massive contractor Northrop Grumman Corp.

“I am delighted to assemble the best team to serve [Naval Facilities],” Kamdar said in a release. “Our evolution to be a successful prime contractor on this large procurement is a testimony to the effectiveness of programs and training offered by the Los Angeles Small Business Administration and Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business program.”
