Hugh Ralston will be headed to Fresno to run a major nonprofit, and Stacy Roscoe, a retired Procter & Gamble executive, will replace him on an interim basis to lead the Ventura County Community Foundation.
Longtime VCCF CEO Ralston announced Sept. 12 that he had been named president and CEO of the Fresno Regional Foundation, beginning in late October. VCCF Board Chair Gary Erickson named Roscoe as interim chief while a national search is under way for Ralston’s successor.
Roscoe had been in the process of stepping down from the VCCF board after a dozen years; among other things Roscoe had played a lead role in a number of organizations, including recognition as a lifetime member of the board at the Ventura County Economic Development Association.
Only the second CEO of VCCF, Ralston, 56, was widely credited with building the organization’s endowment, engaging agribusiness leaders in fundraising efforts and reaching out to the Hispanic community.
As part of his 11-year term, he spearheaded the creation of a nonprofit center in Camarillo that now houses 15 of the county’s leading nonprofit agencies.
“It is a privilege to be selected by the Fresno Regional Foundation board as its next CEO,” Ralston said in a statement. “This area of our state is part of the next great chapter of the California dream, and I am thrilled to be working with the board and staff to explore and realize its ambitions for this region and for the work of the foundation.”
“Stacy is the perfect person to serve at this time,” said Erikson in a statement.
Life is blessed with those of action, but laced by memories of results, leadership is both. The trailblazers never fear, able to balance and inspire others to follow. Ventura County has inspired both, providing an environment to creative solutions
