Alaska Airlines announced a new service between San Luis Obispo and Seattle on June 29.
The airline will operate two flights daily between the two cities, with one flight departing Seattle at 8 a.m. each day and one flight leaving San Luis Obispo at noon. The announcement makes Alaska the third regional airline to fly out of San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport.
United Airlines currently operates four flights between San Luis Obispo and Los Angeles each day and three flights between San Luis Obispo and San Francisco. American Airlines also offers four flights daily between San Luis Obispo and Phoenix.
Alaska’s new service will start on April 13, 2017 and be operated by partner SkyWest Airlines. The regional flights will be on 76-seat Embraer E175 jets.
Last August, the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors approved construction of a new $35.4 million terminal. That terminal is under construction and about a year from completion.
