Santa Barbara-based Pensionmark Retirement Group added an affiliate office in New York.

Pensionmark is a financial retirement planning and executive compensation consulting firm. The New York-based Ridge Retirement Consultants and its team of four advisers will join the Pensionmark’s Adviser Support Program. Ridge Retirement has nearly 50 corporate clients and $1.7 billion in assets under management.

“With our growth we wanted a national firm to handle our back office so we can spend most of our time with our clients, helping them reach their retirement goals,” Bob Scherzer of Ridge Retirement said in a news release.

Pensionmark, which was founded in 1988, has grown into one of the largest retirement advisory firms in the country. It represents more than 150 advisers and staff across 40 locations nationwide with about 2,000 retirement plan clients.
