After serving as interim city manager for Thousand Oaks since July 5, 2016, Andrew Powers was brought on permanently Jan. 10 in a special meeting of the Thousand Oaks City Council.
Powers had previously served as assistant city manager and in community and media relations roles for Ventura and Raleigh, N.C. He received his bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University and a master’s degree in public policy and administration from California Lutheran University.
“Drew has displayed the highest level of integrity, strong leadership, judgment, and commitment to the city of Thousand Oaks,” Mayor Claudia Bill-de la Peña said in a statement. “He is the most qualified and best suited person to lead the organization and work towards the betterment of our entire community.”
