Yardi Systems, a Goleta-based property management software firm, has acquired a company that makes electronic health record software for nursing homes and other facilities.

Yardi said it bought Eagle, Idaho-based ALMSA Corp., which makes software for both electronic health records and electronic prescriptions. The companies did not disclose terms of the deal, but said ALMSA would retain its “key personnel.”

Yardi, which employs about 400 people on the South Coast, provides software that property owners use to manage financials, collect rents and allow residents to pay bills. In recent years, it has pushed deeper into vertical segments, targeting specific types of property owners and seeking to provide a one-stop-shop for their business software needs.

“Combining ALMSA’s industry-leading [electronic health record] platform with Yardi will create the long-term care industry’s first end-to-end, Web-based financial and [health record] package, including mobile applications,” said Bill Southerland, CEO and president of ALMSA, said in a news release.
