Fire scorches 25K acres

A fire that broke out Aug. 9 in the wilderness of northeastern Santa Barbara County has scorched more than 25,000 acres. Special Devices, one of Moorpark’s larger employers, has emerged from bankruptcy less than eight months after filing for Chapter 11 reorganization protection, said the Ventura County Star.
