When the new president of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo took the podium at theannual Central Coast Economic Symposium, April 7, some 350 business leaders did not know what to expect. But by the time Dr. Jeffrey Armstrong finished speaking some 15 minutes later,the audience knew two things. First, afterjust three months on the job, Armstrong has mastered the local geography andlearned quickly about what makes the economy work.
