We’ll offer our congratulations to Sage Publications and owner Sara Miller McCune, one of the region’s true visionary entrepreneurs and philanthropists.

On May 31, McCune was slated to be honored with an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from her alma matter, Queens College in Flushing, N.Y., during the college’s commencement ceremony.
As an undergraduate at Queens in 1960, McCune attended the White House Conference on Children and Youth where one of the recommendations was to pass legislation to create would later become known as the Peace Corps.

She and her late husband George founded Sage in New York in 1965 and the company moved to California a year later. This is a well-deserved honor.
