Greg Hind was a lover of horses, a water polo champion and most of all a devoted member of the San Luis Obispo business community.
He founded a string of successful businesses, including apparel company GH Sports. He loved the arts and his family’s charitable vehicle, the Hind Foundation, gave money to protect open space. A pet project was the Friends of Wild Cherry Canyon, a 2,500-acre coastal preserve that he hoped would be annexed into a state park.
Hind, who was just 66, died Nov. 1 after a brief illness. His efforts to preserve open space and improve the quality of life in San Luis Obispo County will continue.
