Digital West announced Jan. 24 that it completed a merger with its fellow IT network provider Norcast Telecom, both headquartered in San Luis Obispo. Together, they will have 60 employees with no staff reductions planned.
“Our two companies have worked closely for more than 10 years; in fact, we work with many of the same customers,” Norcast CEO Michael Gayaldo said in a news release. “It was a natural evolution for us to come together.”
The news followed the announcement last week that another regional IT network company, Curvature, had entered into a merger with SMS Systems out of North Carolina for a combined $500 million in revenue. Curvature has 350 employees in Santa Barbara.
Both mergers mean an expansion for the companies, including movement into Ventura County for Digital West.
Digital West’s Tim Williams will remain as CEO, Michael Boyer will continue to serve as chief operating officer and Sandy Davis will remain chief financial officer.
